Thank you Mason for reminding, even us adults, that just because the going gets rough that we shouldn't just pack up & call it a day. Unfortunately, we see many of that mentality in the society today - especially with us guys. Mason is clearly taught this from his parents and provides a simple & effective way to convey this to other children (and their parents). We can all take a few cues here and just dig in for the long haul when we want to take the easy road. Assess your situation and think about the consequences before turning your back on a commitment. What a simple and direct story from a young man speaking from the heart about his personal experience with the game of football and how to turn this experience into a Life Lesson! His story can apply to all young as well as old people to never lose hope. I bought 1 for each of my children and my son's girlfriend who is a school counselor.
My daughter has enjoyed the time we spend together reading "Never Give Up" and looking at the illustrations. What really made the book a winner for us, however, was when she wanted to quit her swim lessons. She had been doing well but was having a bit of trouble with timing. So, we talked about what she was feeling and how it related to what our hero had written about. Now she is back swimming and doing really well. Thanks Mason for the inspiration to keep going!

This book is special! I bought this for my3 1/2 year old son and it is his new favorite book. I went in my sons room today and he had the book open reciting it the best he could! This book is about having a growth mindset and never giving up.
My daughter loved it, and I think it had a great message.

The message of resiliency can be applied to so many circumstances our kids face: Whether they want to quit musical instruments, schoolwork or sports, the underlying message that Mason so clearly lays out, is the same. When you work hard, and never give up, you can accomplish what you set out to do, despite obstacles that may arise. The pages are colorful, and the artwork is great. This is a great book that's been fun to read for my three kids to inspire them to never give up on putting in the hard work to pursue their dreams. I really appreciate that it's written by a kid who's been through it!
